Smokefree JETS Programme (12-14 years)

The focus for the programme is fine tuning on the pass, catch, grip of ball, play the ball, tackling technique, structure of the game, field position on attack/defence.

Selection Criteria

Players are selected via club nominations with special considerations of the following conditions:

• Players who are currently playing in the club competition
• Total squad of 42 players
• Age: 12yrs, 13yrs, 14yrs (turning these ages for 2009 season only)

All players must have played for Taranaki Rugby League at any age group level or higher honours will be considered as well. Good attitude and behaviour will be considered. Nominations from clubs would help for the process of selection, there will be a selection committee of three to finalise squad of 42 players. Remember this is an elite programme that has identified 42 of the best kids with the best attitudes and ability to want to learn and make there game enjoyable.

Selection Process

All nominations will be considered and will be selected based on the eligibility criteria. There is a selection panel that consists of a minimum of three people who will decide the final 42 players.
